Wayne Steven Brundidge's Obituary
Wayne Steven Brundidge, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, in a local hospital. He was born October 7, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He attended Central High School where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. He graduated in class of 1973. Wayne was retired from Bi-Lo Warehouse, formerly Red Food Warehouse. He always volunteered in different capacities at company events. Wayne was a faithful member of Silverdale Baptist Church (Bridges) until he was unable to attend. Wayne served on the Welcome Team, greeting people with his huge smile. He was passionate about serving and giving. Wayne believed and always said, "Why wait on someone else to do it if he can do it?" He adored the members of his small group facilitated by Greg Bolton. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elizabeth Brundidge, Sr.; brothers, Joe Brundidge, Jr., Bernard Brundidge, and Michael Brundidge; sisters, Sandra Brundidge, Brenda Darwin, Gwendolyn Shorter, and LaVerne Brundidge. Those left to cherish his memories include his daughters, Tameeka Brundidge of Chattanooga and LaShonda Brundidge of Tucson, AZ; grandsons, Christopher Brundidge of Chattanooga, Terrance Brundidge of Knoxville, TN, Deonte' Brundidge of Chattanooga, Tyler Brundidge of Tucson, AZ, and J'Shawn Brundidge of Chattanooga; granddaughters, Jada Brundidge of Chattanooga and Allyssa Robinson of Tucson; great-granddaughters, Remi Iddins of Knoxville, Ya'Vani Brundidge, and Ariah Brundidge, both of Chattanooga; great-grandson, Toreal Brundidge of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Linda Brundidge, Mattie Walker, and Geraldine Sheppard; brother-in-law, Melvin Shorter; best friend of over 40 years, Mike (Jennifer) Jackson, Sr.; close friends, Genice "Ms. Memphis" Phillips and Mike (Nakia) Woodruff; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Wayne will lie-in-state on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Brian Squires as the Eulogist. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
