Mike was my big brother in college at the University of Tennessee. I arrived as a freshman from Connecticut, never having lived in the South. Mike guided me when this Yankee was adjusting to the South. We had many great times together and he always supported me by coming to my hockey games even when they started at Midnight.
There was a lot of alcohol drank and a lot of "green" passed around. When we were blasted, Mike would say, "Jim, you're out on that limb. Don't fall!!"
He was one of the few college friends that I stayed in touch with. Two years ago, he drove from Daytona Beach to Orlando just to watch my teenage boys play in a volleyball tournament. I'm so happen that he got to meet them and them him. I'm truly grateful that I had a chance to visit him in early November at his home in Chattanooga, not in a cold hospital room. It gave me a chance to say my final "I Love You My Brother" and hug him one last time. I Love You ML. Hope we meet again!!
