I am saddened to hear of Leo’s passing. I had the honor to work with and become friends Leo. Rest easy Sailor. You were as genuine as they come and have made and left a great impression on many.

To The Family of: our beloved classmate Leonard James Gibson, Sr. We know that there are no adequate words, phrases or expressions, nor acts or deeds that can replace the void in your lives; we come together and pray that God will give you strength and peace in the days ahead.
Whereas, Leonard (AKA “Leo”) James Gibson, Sr. a member of The Howard Class of 1968 was called Home on July 31, 2020, too soon by our measure but not in the providence of the Almighty God, be assured that We are confident that he is now absent from the body but present with the Lord, II Corinthians 5:8.
Whereas; Leo served this earthly kingdom with his love. He was a son, brother, Christian, friend, classmate , sailor- SCOP Retired US Navy (Senior chief petty officer), an uncle, husband, father , grandfather, Steelers’ Fan, fisherman and a soldier in the army of the LORD. A Life well LIVED. He was full of fun, loved to cut up and was a lot of fun to be around.
Whereas; Leo was a loving parent of a devoted son and daughter. We too have been blessed by him in our lives and we the members of The Howard High Class of 1968, know that “HAPPINESS IS REMEMBERING”. He was thoughtful sending birthday, anniversary, condolences and get-well wishes to classmates via Face Book. We will forever remember our 40th and 50th year class reunions and all class reunions that Leo attended.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we will cherish his memory with fondness, and we bow to a greater Will than ours and rest in the knowledge that one day we will be with Leo again, enjoying in the fullness of God’s mercy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a copy of this resolution is given to the Family and a copy be placed in the records of The Howard High Class of 1968.
Humbly submitted: on this 6th day of August, 2020.
