Henry Lee Moore's Obituary
Henry Lee Moore, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama on August 12, 1937, to the union of Tommie and Martha Hereford Moore. He resided in Huntsville until he moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Henry worked for Roadway Company and PTI, where he retired from. He enjoyed his time with his running buddies from where he earned the name “Roller”. Henry enjoyed a good card game of Spades or Bid Whizz. He loved playing his lottery. He loved good ole’ home cooked meals. Henry loved most of all, raising his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We could not have done this without him, thank you!
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Moore; mother, Martha Hereford Moore; son, Charles Wesley; siblings, Barbara Jean Moore Lewis, Tometta Moore Lewis, Lula Mae Moore Ross, Hattie Moore Watkins, Herman Moore, Cornell Moore Effie Lue Moore Royster, Wanda Faye Moore Matkin, and Jimmy Leon Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Lucille Boykin Moore; son, Patrick (Jackie Moore) of Huntsville, AL; daughters, Cynthia McDonald of Huntsville, AL and Shelvy Nicole Moore of Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Carmen (Marvin) Bruell of Chattanooga; stepsons, Byron (Elaine) Boykin, Anthony (Michelle) Boykin, both of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Jason (Tonya) Moore, Tuesday (Cameron) James, Jarvis Moore, Tierra (Amie) Moore, Darien Moore, Shante McDonald, Juwan (Audreanna), Dedrick Moore, Shanice Moore, Britnie Robinson, Brandon Bruell, Darius Boykin, Gary Miller, Brandi (Dereck) Washington, Chris (Smurf) Boykin, and Ashley (Lee) Sabo; several great-grandchildren, very special great-grandson, Josiah “JoJo” Robinson plus others; sister, Thelma B. Ervin of Huntsville, AL; brother-in-law, Robert Booker; sisters-in-law, Annie Bea Johnson, Louise Hunter, both of Chattanooga, and Mary Butler of Teaneck, NJ; special nephew, Jeffery “Bug” Lewis; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Henry will lie-in-state on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Howard Westmoreland as the Eulogist.
