Gertrude Singleton's Obituary

Gertrude Morris Singleton was born January 10, 1933, and the Sun set on her life on September 9, 2025. For 92 years, a grateful life she lived.
Gertrude was the 3rd child of Bookie Thomas Morris and his wife, Deanie Marshall. She was the proud wife of Warren James Singleton, Sr. for 40 years; the sister of Dewey and Bennie Morris of Chattanooga, TN; the sister of Corine Morris of New York City, NY; the grandmother of Matthew (Lubie) Wilkins, III; the sister-in-law of Lizzie Mae Morris, whom are all resting in the presence of the Lord.
Gertrude leaves 2 children, daughter, Terry (James) Brantley and son, Warren James Singleton, Jr. to continue to walk the walk of our Savior Jesus Christ. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; a host of friends from Boynton and Gateway Towards; family of Olivet Baptist Church, where she was a member for years; and special friend, Sharon Flemming.
We the family of Gertrude Singleton would like to thank each of you for the phone calls and concern. We ask that you continue to remember how blessed you are in Jesus' name. As Mama would say, "I am better now that I have seen you!"
Gertrude will lie-in-state on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
