Georgetta Hughes, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in a local hospital. She was employed by G.P.S. for 42 years. She was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Georgetta was preceded in death by he Read Obituary
Ms. Georgetta has a grandson that was born in 2007. My son was born the same year. We bonded over stories about our “boys.” From 2007 - 2022, far after they were little children, she never failed to ask me about my boy and could spin a great story about her boy too! I miss those conversations; I will miss her and I pray for comfort for her family!!
Georgetta and I worked together for 32 years at GPS. I always loved our conversations and her cheerful smile.... even when she wasn't feeling cheerful. She ADORED her family and loved to talk about them. She was a real colleague. She will be missed.
Georgetta was a hard worker, cheerful, and kind. She made her part of the world a better place and brightened many a day. I am grateful that our paths crossed. Rest easy, Georgetta. You can put your feet up now.

I will always remember Georgetta's kind smile and cheerful disposition. It didn't matter how busy she was, she always had time to exchange pleasantries and to offer a smile. She was always a bright spot in my day at GPS.
