Ethel J. Brown's Obituary
It is with deep love that we announce the passing of Ethel Joyce Brown, who departed this life on May 19, 2026, at the age of 70. Born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, she spent her life surrounded by family, love, and cherished memories.
Ethel was a devoted mother of her two beloved daughters, Chantell Crutcher and Tara Crutcher, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life. She was also a loving grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Tiyah Crockett and Amauri Crockett. She shared a special bond with her dear friend and loving former husband, Charles Crutcher, and her beloved niece, Jewel Strickland.
Known for her beautiful, sweet smile, warm spirit and love of laughter, Ethel brought comfort and joy to those around her. She enjoyed reading, treasured meaningful moments with loved ones, and had a heart that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Once of her favorite poems, “Footprints” reflected the faith, comfort, and strength she carried throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Brown, Sr. and Ruth Sledge Brown, as well as her beloved siblings, James, Odessa, Annie Pearl, Alice, Thomas, Charles and Barbara.
She leaves to cherish her memories her surviving siblings, Robert Jr., Mary Frances, Gloria, William Jr., Nellie and Joseph, along with her daughters, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to know and love her.
Ethel’s love, kindness, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
