Bernice Alexander Lockett's Obituary
Bernice Alexander Lockett, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at her residence. She was a faithful member of Prospect Baptist Church where she sang in the Choir and participated in numerous other church activities. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Alexander, Sr. and Odde Outland; husband, Robert L. Lockett, Sr.; siblings, Samuel Alexander, Jr., Charles Alexander, Sidney “Bo” Alexander, Jack Alexander, Osie Anderson, and Gloria Palacio. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth C. Lockett and Robert G. Lockett, Jr., both of Chattanooga; daughters, Beverly A. Lockett of Chattanooga and Lisa E. Lockett of Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Bernice will lie-in-state on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Lance Dorsey as the eulogist.
