While I have known the Patterson family during our life in Mackenzie, Guyana, South America, I was grateful for the opportunity to build a cordial relationship with Basil, while I was at HU. We only spent about two years together at HU while I pursued my undergrad degree in EE, and he was finishing his graduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Nevertheless, we stayed in touch over the years. Basil was one of the coolest and nicest guys, for whom I had a lot of respect.
