Yvonne DeCarlo Hairston's Obituary
Yvonne DeCarlo Hairston, 71, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at her Fayetteville, NC residence. She was born December 3, 1952, to Lydell Lovelace, Sr. and Louise Lovelace. She accepted Christ at an early age. Yvonne was a longtime member of Hamlett Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and a very hardworking woman. Yvonne was employed by Pilgrim’s Pride for 25+ years. She enjoyed her family and loved listening to music. She was preceded in death include her parents; brothers, Lydell Lovelace, Jr. and John Lovelace; and one sister, Bettye Robinson. Survivors include her son, Eric (Martha) Adams, Sr.; daughters, Shantaye Adams and Felecia Adams (James) Leach; 9 grandchildren, Brandon Stephens, Kevin Adams, Travarous (Dora) Ware, Deshayla Copeland, Shakera Adams, Eric Adams, Jr., Alysha Adams, Jayden Adams, and Elijah Adams; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Lovelace and James Lovelace; sisters, Deborah Colvin of Fayetteville, NC, JoAnn McCary, Diane Mason and Elaine Taylor of Chattanooga, TN; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Yvonne will lie-in-state on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 9-10:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. She will also lie-in-state at Hamlett Chapel CME Church at 11 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Henry McClain as the Eulogist. Burial will be Monday, August 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery.
