Yolanda D. Thomas' Obituary
Yolanda Darcella Thomas, 55, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in a local healthcare facility. She was born on October 5, 1968, to Randolph and Rosanna Thomas. Yolanda was affectionately called “Pooh Pooh” by her family.
She attended Chattanooga Public Schools and graduated from Brainerd High School Class of 1986. Yolanda briefly continued her education at East Tennessee State University. She worked at Convergys in customer support, Pilgram’s Pride as a processor, and A-Plus Communications for 15 years gaining meaningful relationships with her coworkers. She loved her family.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lena and Harry Rawlings, and Earnest and Louise Turner; sister, Felecia Craw; uncles, Tyrone Landsen, Harry Rawlings, James Landsen and Lebron Pruitt; and aunts, Carolyn Landsen and Sally Beatrice Thomas.
Carrying her loving memory is her son, Jarren “JT” Carr; parents, Rosanna and Randolph Thomas; special friend, Anthony “AJ” Jones; aunts, Paulette Graves, LaVarn Rawlings, Margret Ann “Waters” Vinson, Brenda Cosby, and Carol Rawlings; uncle, Van Atkins; nephews, Randolph “Randy” Thomas Jr, Donald Sterling, Jr., and Auquintus Craw; special cousins, Netta Rawlings and Sharon Collins; and a host of cousins and friends that were dear to her heart.
Yolanda will lie-in-state on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel with Minister Kenneth Simpson as the Eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
