Wilma Lee Burkes' Obituary
Wilma Lee “B-Eye” Burkes, 85, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 in a local hospital. She was a member of Avondale Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burkes, III; parents, Roosevelt and Beatrice Zackery; brother, Thomas Zackery; and sister, Minnie Cunningham. Survivors include her sons, Henry (Keiawnca) Burkes of Chattanooga and James (Melba) Burkes, IV of Cleveland, TN; daughters, Nancy Maddox, Loretta Davis, Alfreda (Reginald) Wyatt, all of Chattanooga, and Darlene Burkes of Jasper, TN; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Zackery of San Antonio TX; sisters, Rena Banks and Mary Davenport, both of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Sheber (Shirley) Burkes and Eddie Burkes; sister-in-law, Betty (Phillip) Maddox; a host of other relatives and friends. Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. will be the eulogist.
