Williette Capers Parks' Obituary
Williette Capers Parks, 86, of Chattanooga, went away peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at her residence. She was a 1953 graduate of Howard High School. She joined New Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church and participated in the Red Circle, the Sunshine Band, Sunday School, and the Junior Usher Board as a child. She served faithfully on all of the Usher Boards. She also served as President for many years with the Matrons Ministry. Williette was a member of the Hamilton YMCA and participated with the Eastgate Center Senior Zumba classes. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Estella Capers; husband, Willie Parks; mother and stepfather, James and Elnora Cook; son, Reginald Capers. Survivors include her faithful, devoted, loving daughter which was also her caretaker, Ramona Parks of Chattanooga, devoted daughter, Denise Parks-Thompson of Detroit, MI; godchildren, Reginald O’Neal of Columbia, SC, Minister Robin Wade, Charles and Labrina Harris; special devoted cousin, Barbara Jackson; other relatives and a host of friends. Pastor Terrance Hannah will officiate and Pastor Kenneth Simpson will be the eulogist.
