Willie Mae (Bell) Williams' Obituary
Mrs. Willie Mae (Bell) Williams, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Mae was the daughter of the late William and Fannie Mae Bell. Willie was a graduate of Howard High School, class of 1969, and a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Mae was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member before she fell ill. She enjoyed giving to others, her grandkids, playing cards at the Senior Center in Eastgate, traveling, and dancing. She was a food stamp clerk. Willie Mae retired after 30 years of service from the state of Tennessee as a secretary for probation and parole. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Fannie Bell; husband, George Williams; son, Tony Gilliom; sister, Delores Evans; brothers, Herbert, Michael, and Nelson Bell; nephew, James Holt; niece, Paula Bell; granddaughters, Kierra Hardwick and Kendra White; great-grandchildren, Rio Wiley and Greyson Wordlaw. Mrs. Williams leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Kimberly (Kelvin) Wiley; three-grandchildren, Erica Sims, NayQuan House-Gilliom, and Isaiah Wiley; two great-grandchildren, ReyGhan Lee and Xiemora Sims; brother, Herman Holt all of Chattanooga; nieces, nephews; special cousin, Regina; dear friends, Barbara Morgan, Linda Fuqua, Ruth, Patsy, and Vincent Robinson; other relatives and friends. She will lie-in-state on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 12 noon at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne L. Johnson as the eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
