Willie B. Turner, Jr.'s Obituary
Willie B. Turner, Jr., 92, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the Hospice Care Center. Willie was born on September 22, 1930, to Reatha Howard-Turner and Willie B. Turner, Sr. Willie attended Howard High School and at the age of 17 he joined the United States Navy. He retired after 30 years of service in 1969. Willie completed his education from high school and college while in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reatha Howard-Turner; father, Willie B. Turner, Sr.; brother, Alvin Turner; sisters, Rejeeya “Lillie” Di Aab and Velma Lee Hinton-Turner; daughter, Cheryl Ann Turner. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Faye Turner of Chattanooga; daughters, Robyn Turner of Chattanooga and Velma Turner of San Diego, CA; step-children, Debbie Stinson and Virgil Barber; grandchildren; Latasha “Tweet” Brown of Sacramento, CA, Tiffany Lucas of Chattanooga and George Lucas II of Murietta, CA; great-grandchildren, Lance Lucas, Dominic Lucas, both of Murietta, and Damia Snow of Chattanooga; sister, Genevive Turner of Toledo, OH; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Hospice Care Center. Willie will lie-in-state on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 12:00-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will be on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Steve L. Underwood giving words of comfort.
