Willie Richard Hines, Jr.'s Obituary
Willie Richard Hines, Jr., affectionately called “Butch”, 63, was born March 4, 1961, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, in a local hospital. He was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and was a 1979 graduate of Brainerd High School. Willie was a faithful member of Shepherd Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie R. Hines, Sr.; grandparents, William and Mary McCleskey, Sr.; uncle, Tommy Joe McCleskey, Sr.; and aunt, Anna McCleskey Wyche. Survivors include his devoted and loving mother, Sibley P. Hines of Chattanooga; brother, Torrey (Latasha) Hines, Sr. of Chattanooga; sister, Michelle Hines (David) Johnson of California; uncles, Earl Hines, Sr., Cecil Hines, Sr., both of Chattanooga, Tim (Shirlee) McCleskey, Sr. of Nashville, TN, William Miles McCleskey, Jr., George (Mary) McCleskey, both of Chattanooga, and Freeman Wyche, Sr. of Miami, FL; aunt, Quint McCleskey Hopkins; nephews, Devin Johnson, Dominic Johnson, and Torrey Hines, Jr.; niece, Tia Hines; a host of cousins; other relatives and friends. Willie will lie-in-state on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Tim McCleskey, Sr. as the Eulogist. Burial will be Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
