Waymon Sims' Obituary
Waymon Sims, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 in a Murfreesboro hospital. He was a graduate of Howard High School and attended Chattanooga State Technical Community College. Waymon was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He attended Love Fellowship Church and later became a member of Greater Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Ned Jacob and Cora Lee Johnson Sims, Sr.; siblings, Ida Benford, Mozella Johnson, Evelyn Ford, Gibson Sims, Lillie Mae Black, and Mae Frances Blunt. Survivors include his brothers, Ned Sims, Jr. and James Sims, both of Stone Mountain, GA; sisters, Rosa Lee Lacy of Chattanooga, Reverend Julia A. Jennings of Americus, GA, Ernestine Terrell, Shirley Ann Carter, both of Chattanooga, and Fredine (George) Jordan of Fayetteville, GA; caregiver-niece, Corine Carter-Murphy of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Brandon Malone will be officiating and Pastor Gibson Sims, Jr. will be serving as the eulogist.
