Walter Willie Rucker, III's Obituary
Walter Willie “Bubba” Rucker, III, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in a local hospital. He was born on October 28th, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Walter W. and Doris B. Rucker, Jr. Walter was a native of Nashville, Tennessee and long-time resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Walter was educated in the Metro Nashville Public Schools system. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and in January 2012, he rededicated his life back to Christ. Walter was a member of Abundant Life Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Administrative Assistant Superintendent Lebron Hawkins. Since rededicating his life to Christ, Walter became bold in his witness for the Lord and was not shy about sharing his Faith to others. Walter was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Bell; father, Walter Rucker, Jr.; and siblings, Marssille Ridley, Rochelle Burkhaulter, Vivian Carpenter, Beverly Maxwell, Desi Rucker, Darrell Rucker, and Sharon Rucker. Survivors include his devoted wife, Diane Rucker; son, Abel (Trina) Rucker; Grandsons, Elijah Rucker and Isaiah Rucker; brother, Erick Rucker; sister, Crystal (Edwin) Lee; aunt, Avery Smith; in-laws, Gloria (Lebron) Hawkins, Ronald Moorer, Angela Moorer, and Gale Hall; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Walter will lie-in-state on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Abundant Life Church of God in Christ. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church with Pastor Lebron Hawkins as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
