Walter Lebron Ford, Sr.'s Obituary
Walter Lebron Ford Sr., 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Walter Lebron Ford was born on January 25, 1953 to the late Walter Thomas Ford and Betty Terry Ford. Walter graduated from Howard High School in 1971 and married his high school sweetheart Debra in 1972. They both joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church shortly after their union in marriage. Walter, Sr. was employed by Dixie Yarn for over thirty years and worked for GPS for over 20 years until his health declined. He leaves to cherish his memories a very loving wife of 51 years, Debra Ford; sons, Walter Ford, Jr. and Tracy Ford both of Chattanooga; sisters, Betty Parham of Decatur, GA, Ann Simpson, Dorothy Hurt, and Brenda (Willie) Walker all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Realitie Ford, Montavius Ford of Chattanooga, Tra’veon Ford of Chickamauga, GA; sisters-in-law, Selina Williams, Joyce Stamper both of Chattanooga, Mae Gwen Ford of Memphis, TN; brothers-in-law, Richard Slaughter, Willie Walker, and Robert Page all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He will lie-in-state on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Ternae T. Jordan, Sr. as eulogist. Burial on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery.
