Vickie Lee Thompson's Obituary
Vickie Lee Thompson, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 in a local hospital. She was a 1974 graduate of Riverside High School and received her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Chattanooga State Community College. Vickie was formerly employed by Chattanooga Head Start for 28 years, most recently as the Site Director for Cedar Hill Head Start. She was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the Gospel Choir, member of the Deaconness Ministry, Kitchen Committee, and Charlie’s Angels. She was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Educators. Vickie was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Murphy; brothers, Bruce Murphy and Daryl Leshea Murphy, Sr. Survivors include her sons, Andre Finch, Jeremy Finch, both of Chattanooga, and Joseph (Vernita) Finch of Macon, GA; grandchildren, Makenzie Hill Finch, Andrea Finch, Cassius Finch, and Anais Finch; father, Sylvester Murphy; brothers, Robert Murphy and James Murphy; sisters, Charity (Leon) Holmes, Carolyn Murphy, and Diane Domineck; aunts, Hennie “Nonnie” Wade and Mary King, all of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Carlton Douglas will serve as the eulogist.
