Van R. Robinson, Sr.'s Obituary
Van R. Robinson, Sr., 93, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in a local hospital. He was a 1945 graduate with the Phenix, VA school system. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Van worked 32 years with Republic Steel and 25 years with Southside Hospital in Youngtown, OH. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist in Youngstown where he served on the Usher Board. He was a faithful member with VFW Post 6488. Van was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Robinson; son, Gary Robinson; brother, Stewart Robinson, Sr.; and sister, Marbelle Johnson. Survivors include his children, Van (Renee) Robinson, Jr. of Youngstown, Deborah (Meredith) Campbell of Chattanooga, and Galen (Lisa) Robinson of Columbus, OH; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Randy Petersen will serve as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. (CST) in Middle Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery, Nashville, TN.
