Trenetta Rowe's Obituary
Trenetta Stewart Rowe, “Tuta”, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in a local hospital. She was born November 10, 1940, the 3rd child of Clara Rhodes Stewart and Herschel Stewart. She was a 1958 graduate of Howard High School and attended Chattanooga State Community College. Trenetta’s career expanded 67 years with positions with the Cavalier Corporation, McKesson & Robbins, and Van Heusen. After her retirement, she went on to develop a successful career in real estate. She was a faithful member of New Emanuel Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Sunday School Department. Trenetta was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Clara Stewart; and husband, Thomas James Rowe. Survivors include her son, Darrius Raynard (Synita) Rowe of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Genetha Rowe of Chattanooga; 4 grandchildren, Darrius Justin Rowe, India Rowe, Cydnee’ Dozier, and Camren Dozier; brothers, Larry (Sharon) Stewart, Melvin Stewart, and Ricky (Dorothy) Stewart, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Loretta Harris of San Diego, CA and Victoria Stewart- (Peter) Cannon of Centreville, VA; uncles, Jim Rhodes and Luther Rhodes, both of Crawfordville, GA; aunts, Evelyn Kendrix of Crawfordville, GA and Gladys Little of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Trenetta will lie-in-state on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 12 noon at New Emanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Terrence Hannah officiating and Pastor Samuel Townsend as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
