Travis Damon Murphy, Sr.'s Obituary
Travis Damon Murphy, Sr., 52, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, in a local medical facility. He was born on May 11, 1973, to the late Derenda Walker and Eliza Murphy, Jr. He attended Brainerd High School and graduated class of 1992. He was a “gentle giant” and will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Derenda Walker; father, Elisah Murphy, Jr.; grandparents, Ernest Mae Sands Murphy, Eliza Murphy, Sr. and Homer Green, Sr.; sister, Tara Murphy; nephew, Antwuan Stokes. Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his two sons, Keenan Kennard and Travis Murphy, Jr.; grandmother, Ann Walker; sisters, Keya (Andre) Taylor, Nellie Favors, and Wenona Calloway; brothers, Reginald Murphy, and Germaine (NaNa) Favors; special uncles, James Murphy, Antonio Walker, Monroe (Lucille) Walker, James Walker, Riley (Paulette) Walker, and Ronnie (Paula) Walker, Rod Kirk, Gerald Green, Michael Green, and Holmer Green; aunts, Adriene (Stacey) Banks, Arnella (Tommy) Mitchell, and Alisa (Alphonso) Allen; nieces, Derenda (Bernard) Hyter, Laura (Russell) Murphy, Alisha Houston, Jacobi Cox, Christiana Walker; nephews, Karlton Walker, Jr., Jawuan Ware, Sr., Montez Murphy, Eric Collier, Germaine Favors, Jr., Germaine Favors, III, and Darrius Cox; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Travis will lie-in-state on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel. Burial in Tyner Cemetery.
