Tommy "The Dude" Thorne's Obituary
Tommy “The Dude” Thorne, 73, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in a local hospital. He was formerly employed by Wheland Foundry. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Viola Thorne, Sr.; brothers, Bill Thorne, Bob Thorne, and Ed Lee Thorne. Survivors include his companion of 34 years, Mary Coleman; sons, Tommy (Shureka) Thorne of Rockhill, SC, Terry Thorne, Tommy (Consuela) Ramsey, and Dennis Moore, all of Chattanooga; daughters, Renita Thorne of Chattanooga; special daughters, Starr Jones of Savannah, GA and Doretha Glover of Rockhill; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, John Thorne, Jr. of Rockhill; sisters, Barbara Mitchell, Mammie Mobley, and Shirley House, all of Rockhill; a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Michael Avery will serve as the eulogist.
