Pastor Thomas Edward Stovall's Obituary
Pastor Thomas Edward Stovall, 75, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, at his residence. He was a 1969 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired from CARTA after 28 years of service. Pastor Stovall was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Stovall, Sr. and Lue Ella Johnson; brothers, Ollie Stovall, Jr., Donald Ray Goodloe, and Willie Edward Goodlow; sons, Thomas L. Stovall and Hosea O. Stovall; and granddaughter, Cache’t Peterson. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Princetta Foster Stovall; sons, Dewayne D. Love of Chattanooga and Dr. Thomas J. (Tiffani) Stovall of Stanford, CA; daughters, Jennifer Peterson, Valecia Stovall, and Tori S. Stovall, all of Chattanooga; 7 grandchildren, Monique Stovall, Tamara Peterson, Darrian Kinamore, Tomesha Stovall, Emani Stovall, Darrius Elder, and Dezmond Love; 8 great-grandchildren; godson, Kinmar Williams; brothers, Connie C. (Winifred) Woods of Courtland, AL, Connie D. (Elenor) Goodlow, and Rufus (Jewel) Goodloe, both of Hillsboro, AL; sisters, Connie M. (Jesse) Sherrod, Lena Goodloe, both of Courtland, AL, and Debra F. (Jeffrey) Miller of Hillsboro, AL; sister-in-law, Dorestine Goodloe of Columbus, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; dearest friends, Nathaniel Ray of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jackie Ray of Tampa, FL, Sonny (Carrie) Melvin, and James Powell, both of Chattanooga; and other friends. Pastor Stovall will lie-in-state on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor James Powell as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
