Thomas Peavy Patten, Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas Peavy Patten, Sr., 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 in a local hospital. He was a 1966 graduate of Howard High School. Thomas was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church, and was the Worshipful Master of Lillie White Lodge #293. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Ruth Finley Patten, Jr.; daughter, Tomasina Cordell; brother, Jimmy C. Patten; father and mother-in-law, Joseph (Ila Mae) Lee, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Oudie Jean Patten; son, Thomas Peavy Patten, Jr., sisters, Brenda P. Bridgeman, Regina (Van) Hickman, and Phyllis P. Fleming, all of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Mary L. Hutchinson of Hamilton, MS, and Diane (Ricky) Burnett of Birmingham, AL; brothers-in-law, Woodrow (Helen) Hutchinson of Hamilton, MS, and Joseph (Doris) Lee, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other family members and friends.
