Terryance Carter's Obituary
Terryance “Terry” Sturdivant Carter, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in a health care facility. He was born on October 1, 1958, to Gradie Carter and Leonard Sturdivant. Terryance attended Kirkman Technical High School. He retired from the City of Chattanooga after 26 years of service. Terryance was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Sturdivant; step-father, George Carter; maternal grandparents, Sol and Laura Robinson; paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Ralph Sturdivant; step-brother, Anthony Carter; other aunts and uncles; and just two days earlier his uncle, Herana Robinson, Sr. Survivors include his two daughters, Tiffany Carter and Tracy Carter; granddaughter, Mikalah Simmons; mother, Gradie Louise Carter; sister, Georgette Carter; nephews, Darius Greene of Baton Rouge, LA and Dallas Harvey of Chandler, AZ; niece, Ashley Greene; uncles, Franklin Robinson, Cyrus (Virginia) Carter, and Roland Carter; aunts, Joann Robinson of Batesville, AR, Phyllis Robinson, Rev. Carol Jackson, and Charlene Smith; companion of 22 years, Laverne Parrish; and a host of cousins; other relatives and friends. Terryance will lie-in-state on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery with Pastor Ronald B. Cook, Sr. giving words of comfort.
