Terry Anita Sutton's Obituary
Terry Anita Sutton, 62, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at her residence. She was born on February 6, 1962, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Ora Mae Morris and Rufus Sutton. Terry attended Howard High School for a few years before obtaining her G.E.D. She was a previous employee of Dentistry for 7 years before its closing. She was loved by so many people. She had a heart of gold and was a cheerful giver. Terry loved her some Shirley Cesar, James Cleveland, and Kirk Franklin. Her kids knew it was time to get up to clean and rearrange furniture when songs from those 3 started playing, lol. She was always the life of the party, many people loved to see her coming. She’s always been genuine in her kindness, love, and care. She was a fighter, even up until her last breath. She has two loving kids that she leaves behind, Carlos (Dee) and Cheryl (DeeDee) that are truly going to miss her. Terry was preceded in death by her mother, Ora Mae Sutton; father, Rufus Sutton, Sr.; sisters, Kimberly and Shirley Sutton; brothers, Anthony and Kenyon Sutton; and bonus moms, Lily Mae McCullough and Jacqueline Asberry. Terry leaves behind her children, Carlos McCullough and Cheryl Asberry; grandsons, KaJuan Dupree and Nairobe Burns; sisters, Kerry, Sherry, Cherry (Jessie), Yolanda Sutton, and Chalena Visher; brothers, Rufus Sutton, Jr. and Ferdell Sutton; best friend, Cheryl (Ken) Hazel; and a host of nieces; nephews; and cousins. Terry will lie-in-state on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, October 25, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Delford Hughley as the Eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
