Teia Tate's Obituary
Teia Nichole Craig-Tate, affectionately known as “Nikki” of Chattanooga, TN was born September 5, 1979, to the parents of Sylvia Dees and Rictor Craig, Sr. She lived 42 wonderful years before departing this earth on February 20, 2022. Teia’s pride and joy were her three beautiful children, Zakala, Mikiah, and Jasmyn. Teia graduated from Tyner High School in 1997 and shortly after her graduation, received her cosmetology license. During her life, she was a devoted full-time mother that loved watching her girls excel in their many extra-curricular activities. Behind the enormous smile and her gentle embrace, Teia endured continuous battles with Diabetes. Given her circumstance, she never once let her illness get in her way and she always enjoyed life to the fullest. Teia will be deeply missed. She leaves behind three amazing daughters, Zakala Tate, Mikiah Tate, and Jasmyn Hill; mother, Sylvia (Lawrence) Dees; father, Rictor (Stacia) Craig, Sr.; brothers, Rictor Craig, Jr., Tony Allen, Brandon Allen, Ari Craig, and Ace Craig; sisters, Crystal (Larry) Henderson, Lakita Dees, Casie (Kyle) Hubbard, Norquitta Trimble, Ava Craig, Abi Craig; sisters in love, Maria Shores and Krishawna Johnson; devoted and loving aunts, Gail Cunningham and Gwendolyn (Clyde) Senviel; cousin, Sarah Craig, LaChrysta Holliday; god-parents, Carolyn (Milton) Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. The family would like to send a special THANK YOU to the ICU unit of Memorial Hospital, Siskin Hospital, Life Care Center of Hixson, CKC on Hwy 58, and Erlanger Hospital for their kindness and care of Teia throughout her life.
