Tara Delnese Bostic's Obituary
Tara Delnese Garth Bostic, 55, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in a local hospital. She was born on October 5, 1970, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to James Rigby and Mattie Garth. She graduated from Chattanooga High School with the class of 1988, and began to pursue a career in food service, working as a cook, a team leader, a trainer and a cashier. She loved working in the food service field; that was her passion. Tara was married to Darrell Bostic, and out of that beautiful union, they had 3 sons, Chadd Bostic, and twins, David Bostic and Daniel Bostic.
Tara, or “Shag,” as she was known to family and friends, was a loving and caring person. She loved her family and friends so deeply. She enjoyed reading books and solving crossword puzzles. She loved sitting on the porch or relaxing in the backyard. She also enjoyed watching movies and listening to music. She will be deeply missed.
Tara was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Garth; grandfather, Ezell Garth; her son, Daniel Bostic; cousin, Kutura Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, David Bostic and Chadd Bostic; grandchildren, Amelia Bostic and Jaden Bostic; mother, Mattie Rigby; father, James Rigby; brothers, Donald Sledge, III, and Jamar Rigby; sister, Jessica McClain; a very close and dear uncle, Ezell Garth, Jr.; a host of loving and caring cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Tara will lie-in-state on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
