Shunte' Leenise Mathis' Obituary
Shunté Mathis, 44, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at a local hospital. Shunté attended Hixson High School, class of 1998. She later attended Chattanooga State and finished her degree in Medical Coding. Shunté was truly loved by all her family and friends and will truly be missed. She is preceded in death by her aunts, Brenda Cuff, Sharon Mathis Gray; grandfather, Tyrone Mathis; grandmother, Mabel Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memories is her son, Jamel Mathis of Gatlinburg, TN; daughters, Jasmine Paris, and Joslyn Brookins both of Chattanooga; five grandchildren; father, Roger Robinson; mother, Margaret Mathis Rogers; grandmother, Sophia Mathis; brothers, Antonio Mathis and Malachi Robinson; sisters, Marqusha Mathis-Greene, Rosalind Robinson, Chelsea Robinson, and Ginger Gustafson; uncles, Edward (Brenda) Mathis, and Tyrone (Rachel) Mathis; aunts, Marie Marbury, Angela (Anthony) Medows, Glenda Mathis, and Vanessa (Perry) Beavers all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at East LakeCommunity Center, 3610 Dobbs Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37407.
