Sharonda Renee Taylor DePriest's Obituary
Mrs. Sharonda Renee Taylor DePriest was born December 6, 1981, to Ernest A. Taylor, Jr. and Eloise Whitelow. She was the first bouncing baby of their three children.
Sharonda’s early childhood years were shaped by her paternal grandparents Beverly and Ernest A. Taylor, Sr. and her paternal great aunt Shirley A. Watkins. She often shared that her grandmothers’ values and outlook on “life and living” greatly affected her own life application skills.
She attended Sunday School and was baptized at Cleveland Street Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. While attending Cleveland Street Missionary Baptist Church she also sang in the Choir.
Sharonda completed her formal education in the Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). She also later attended Tennessee State University.
Before marrying the love of her life Andrew “Drew” DePriest on December 7, 2010, Sharonda had two children. LaMont and LaJoi Johnson who were fondly called Mont and Joi. Sharonda and Andrew were blessed to have two children, Ayden and Aniayah DePriest, and raised their family of four children. Sharonda and Drew cherished their two grandchildren Naomi Johnson and LeJend Vick.
Sharonda took great delight in showcasing her artistic skills by designing and developing graphic t-shirts and creating bedazzle shoes. Her last entrepreneurship was as a Logistics Specialist. Wholeheartedly supported by her husband, this endeavor included but was not limited to dispatching intrastate and interstate semi-truck drivers, brokering loads and truck consultations. Sharonda eventually acquired her own Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and drove over the road.
Sharonda will be greatly missed by her beloved immediate and extended family, her husband, Andrew S. DePriest; her children, LaMont (Cyrene) Johnson, LaJoi Johnson, Ayden DePriest, and Aniayah DePriest; grandchildren, Naomi Johnson and LeJend Vick; father, Ernest A.
