Shanica Monique Smith, 37, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in a local hospital. She attended Howard High School. She was formerly employed by Subway. Shanica was preceded in death by her father, Gregory B. Smith, Sr.; sister, Veronica Hubbard; grandmothers, Phyllis Taylor and Fannie Hughes; and aunt, Katherine Taylor. Survivors include her daughter, Janaiyah Greene; mother, Dewanda Taylor (Arthur Ballanger); brother, Gregory Smith, Jr.; sisters, Renita Smith and LaShanda Hubbard (Dwight) Tipton; uncles, Glen Bailey, Jr. and Leonard Smith; aunts, Carol Pilcher, Weinshana Bailey, Mildred Taylor, Pamela Sterns, Anietta (Kenneth) Billups, Forestine (Randy) Brown, Shelia Cameron, and Paula (Ronnie) Walker; nieces, Keyonna Tipton and Giana Smith; nephews, DeJuan Tipton, Devontay Tipton, Jordan Smith, Gabriel Smith, Greg Smith, Landon Smith, and Karter Smith; a host of cousins; other relatives; best friends, Renita Smith, Brandon Jones and other friends. Pastor Shauna Wooten will serve as the eulogist.
