Saundra Minshew's Obituary
Saundra Minshew, 61, of Chattanooga, passed away, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at her residence. She was born July 30, 1963, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Lucille Bruce and Cecil Minshew, and bonus parent, James William Bruce who helped raise her.
Saundra loved music, singing, dancing, and spending time with family. She graduated from Brainerd High School and earned her Associate degree in Data Entry from Chattanooga State. Saundra was employed by Bright School for over 10+ years. She had a beautiful heart with a great sense of humor and zest for life. She was always willing to help those in need to the best of her ability.
Saundra was preceded in death by Lucille (James William) Bruce; grandson, Jayden Smith, granddaughter, Jream Smith, and sister, Teresa Minshew. She is survived by her sons, John C. (Shanta) Smith, III of Battle Creek, MI, Cameron J. Minshew, Sr. of Chattanooga, TN and Brandon J. Minshew of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Barbara Bruce of Cleveland, TN; brother, William “Bucky” (Cynthia) Bruce of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Cameron Minshew, Jr., Ja'Nya Smith, Jada Smith, John Smith, IV, Camiyah Minshew, Camorah Minshew, Jace Smith, and Jordin Smith; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Saundra will lie-in-state on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Paul as the Eulogist.
