Sarah I. Kidd -Wheeler's Obituary
Ms. Sarah Inez Kidd-Wheeler, 62, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, in a local hospital. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 9, 1962, to Joe and Sarah Kidd. She attended Brainerd High School, where she graduated in 1980, before continuing her education at Chattanooga State. She attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and an Associate’s Degree in Psychology. Sarah attended Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she was a choir member and a board trustee of the church. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Kidd; brother, Joe Kidd, Jr.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Trotter, and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest C. Smith. Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Robert Williams; daughters, Donnita D. Abernathy, Camile Smith, and Tiffany Poe, all of Chattanooga; sister, Tammia J. Ware, of Chattanooga; aunts, Cheri L. Mitchell, of Chattanooga, and Forrestina Favors, of Detroit, MI; nephews, Micah Kidd and Makel Kidd; cousins, Donna (Reginald) Favors, Henry Lipkins, of Nashville, TN, Wanda Lightner, and Anita Tourney; special friends, Russell Malone and family, Denise, Marchetta, co-workers at Family Dollar; a host of other family and friends. Sarah will lie-in-state on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor James Clark as Eulogist. Burial in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
