Ruby Mae Jackson, 91, of Hixson, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024. Ruby attended and graduated Howard High School. She loved her family and was a joy to be around. She is preceded in death by her parents, Barry and Laura Davis; husband, Leonard Jackson, Jr.; sons, Dennis Smith and Rickey Smith; daughter, Delphine Appleberry; grandson, LeDale Lyle; granddaughter, Coltrese Reese; nephew, Richard Davis; brothers; Thomas Davis, Walter Davis; sister, Pearl Lowe. Survivors include sons, Todd (Kim) Smith, Lawarren (Cheryl) Smith, and Winford (Gwen) Davis; daughters, Wanda (David) Lyle, Denise Deere, Angelia (James) Westmoreland, Jr., Tanza Freeman, Juana Jackson, and Rena (Janice) Sandford; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Donna Smith; sister, Minnie Parker. She will lie-in-state on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Simpson as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery.
