Rosie Lee Sims' Obituary
Rosie Lee Cousin Sims, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in a local hospital. She was born to Early and Dearrie Cousin in Hamilton County on August 3, 1928. She was the eldest of 9 children. Rosie was a graduate of Howard High School. She was employed and retired from National Linen Service after many years of service. On February 20, 1959, Rosie married James Sims, Sr. Together, they reared 7 children. She was a faithful member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, where she was a teacher in Sunday School, and later became a member of the Mother’s Board. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, James Sims, Sr.; parents, Dearrie and Early Cousin, Sr.; son, Tyronne Sims; grandson, Jordan Holliman; granddaughter, Kree Moore; brothers, Robert Cousin and Early Cousin, Jr. Survivors include her sons, Ervin (Cathy) Cousin, James (Jean) Sims, Jr., Melvin (Virginia) Cousin, Anthony (Martha) Sims, and Vincent Sims; daughter, Sandra Odom; daughter-in-law, Rosie Snow Sims; sisters, Florinda Calloway, Doris McElrath, Norma Johnson, Virginia Jones, and Leila (Henry) Lumpkin; brother, Reginald (MaeBell) Cousin; 12 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Charles Moore will be the eulogist.
