Ronald McWhorter Sr.'s Obituary
Ronald “Ron Beats” McWhorter, Sr., 73, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his residence. He was a 1965 graduate of Howard High School. Ronald was one of the first black supervisors at DuPont. He was an independent insurance broker. Ronald retired from Norfolk Southern Railway. He was preceded in death by his father, George Maffett, Sr.; mother, Bernice McWhorter; and four siblings. Survivors include his sons, Ronald McWhorter, Jr. and Douglas McWhorter, Sr.; daughters, Rhonda McWhorter and La-Chic McWhorter, all of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers; five sisters; a host of other relatives and friends. Minister Larry High will serve as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
