Roland Young's Obituary
Roland Young, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was a 1965 graduate of Hill High School in LaFayette, Walker County, Georgia. Roland was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Christopher Dixon and William “Jake” (Eleanor) Young; grandparents, Emanuel “Buck” and Susie Logan Christopher. Survivors include his brothers, Chester L. Dixon of Seminole, FL, Gregory C. (Betty) Dixon of Chattanooga, and Reginald L. Dixon of Atlanta, GA; sister, Shirley A. Dixon Bennett of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Roland will lie-in-state on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Glen Taylor as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
