Roger S. Heard, Jr.'s Obituary
Roger Sylvester “Mac PurP” Heard, Jr., 34, of Chattanooga, left unexpectedly on Friday, August 11, 2023. He was born February 7, 1989, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Roger left Hamilton County School System and later returned to continue his education by receiving his G.E.D. He had a love and passion for cars, motorcycles, and women. He was a member of Sin City Motorcycle Club. Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Shameka Heard; brother, Dejuane Cosby, niece, Anslee Cosby; great-grandmother, Willie M. Burnett; and great-uncle, Fredrick Hicks. Leaving to carry on his legacy include his daughters, Semajia Hudson, twin girls, Chloe and Zoe Heard, and Kaylin Spivey; his only son, Dejuane Heard; mother, Gloria (Adrian) Lewis; father, Roger S. Heard, Sr.; brother, David Cosby, Jr.; sister, Resheda Trimble, all of Chattanooga; grandparents, Barbara Hicks, Willene Hudgins, and Bobby (Joyce) Parker; aunts, Doris (Juan) Toney, Rosalind (Stephen) Cothran, Lynette (Donald) Walker, Kathryn (James) Gladden, and Caprecia (Shad) Edmondson; great-aunt, Delores Walker; uncles, Robert (Tina) Parker, Edward Parker, Robert (Angela) Parker, Jr., Worn Hicks, Kenny Hicks, John Heard, and Cedrick Lewis; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Roger will lie-in-state on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church with Bishop Kevin Adams, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
