Roderick DeWayne Ross, Sr.'s Obituary
Roderick DeWayne Ross, Sr., 47, of Chattanooga, went home on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in a local hospital. Roderick entered this world on March 25, 1978. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Fred Ross, Jr.; and his maternal grandfather, Johnny Pryor.
Roderick leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christiana Ross; two sons, Roderick D. Ross, Jr. and Desmond Ross; three daughters, Qi’Ara Ross, A’nya Ross, and Ci’Ana Ross; father, Dr. Fred Ross, III; mother, Donna Gates; maternal grandmother, Hureline Blanks; paternal grandmother, LaVerne Ross; brother, Darius Maxwell; sisters, Alexis Harris, Arielle (Joseph) Utsu, Cierra Hatten-Ross, and Chelsé Hatten-Ross; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; loving family and a multitude of friends.
A special thanks to our extended family for all the love you have shown us over 30 plus years. Thanks to three very special people in Roderick’s life, Chris McKeldin, who told him he was his Big Brother the moment they met, Jerel Fair, and Trey Dukes. Thanks to his Vol Nation family and friends.

A memorial service for Roderick will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home.
