Robert Williams' Obituary
Robert “Bobby” Williams, 73, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, in a healthcare facility. He was born April 19, 1950 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Robert was a graduate of Riverside High School Class of 1969. Robert worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for over 35 years in Chattanooga, Nashville, and Atlanta, Georgia. He also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee on the evening cleaning crew for many years. Robert never met a stranger and anyone who knew him was always a friend. Robert loved to watch football and basketball games with his brothers and friends. Robert’s favorite line when someone asked him how he was doing, he always said “Trying to survive the game.” He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma “Sug” Williams; father, Brady Means; stepfather, W.M. Ewing; brothers, Theodore “Teddy” Williams and Charles Means; aunt, Ruby Williams; uncle, Willie “Sonny” Williams; and grandfather, Edward “Skillett” Williams. Survivors include his sons, Born Allah, Ugod (Akili) Allah, Ra’Akil Allah of Atlanta, GA, and Nigel Williams of Chattanooga; daughters, Kenisha Williams of Atlanta, GA and Tiana (Josh) Williams of Chattanooga; brothers, Gary “JR” Ewing, Bill (Raqetta) Williams, and David Williams, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Joyce Pittman and Jean (George) Armour, both of Chattanooga; aunts, Susie Williams-Martin and Emma Williams, both of Chattanooga; ex-wife, Izola Williams of Atlanta, GA; 9 grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends; special friends, Betty Garth and Cheryl Sims; a very special adopted sister and friend, Regina Glatt. Robert will lie-in-state on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. There will be no service.
