Robert Morgan's Obituary
Robert Morgan was born on April 27, 1937, to Robert Holmes and Louise Thompson and raised by John and Emma Morgan. His family affectionately called him Buttercup.
Robert was employed by First Centenary United Methodist Church for 27 years in Environmental Services before retiring. He was a member of Church of The First Born. He transitioned from this earthly life into eternity on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Holmes, Louise Thompson, and John and Emma Morgan; sons, Gerald Smith, Jimmy Singleton, Clarence Singleton, and Charles Hudson; and sister, Eldoretha Morgan Moorer.
Robert leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Benita Morgan of Chattanooga, TN.; sons, Gregory (Lola) Hudson, Thaddeus (Sherri) Twitty, Michael Harmon, Tremail Harmon, Darius Twitty, and Curtis Reed all of Chattanooga, TN.; daughters, Sharon (Jeffery) Jones, Vickie Eberhart Talley, Connie (Larry Maddox) Dunnigan, and Curnekia Ricks of Chattanooga, TN.; sisters in-law, Retunga Wilkerson and Charlen (Robin) Davenport of Chattanooga, TN.; brothers in-law, Johnny (Kimberly) Woodley and Tony Jones of Chattanooga, TN.; special friends, Robert Austin, Michael Edwards, and Clifford Postell all of Chattanooga, TN.; 115 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Robert will lie-in-state on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon in the Chapel with Pastor Alfred Johnson as the Eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
