Robert L. Jackson's Obituary
Robert Lee “Pie” Jackson, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at his residence. He was a 1969 graduate of Howard High School. He retired from Combustion Engineering as a welder and also retired from Hamilton County Board of Education. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mae Frances Jackson; sisters, Charleslisa Jackson and Emily Ann Stockdale; brother, Clarence Jackson; and daughters, Deidria Yvette Jackson and Cheritha Jackson. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Gloria Jackson; daughters, Monica Jackson, Vanessa Pittman, Tameara (Edrick) Smith, and Temekia Reed, all of Chattanooga; stepson, Edward Stoutemire, Jr. of Chattanooga; grandsons, Gameel Jones, Dominique Jones, Jerry Jones, Edward Stoutemire, III, Jalon Phillips, D’Marquese Howard, and Makari Dowdy; granddaughters, Cherica Thompson, Janay Jones, Alexandria Jinks, Amanda Jackson, Diamond Jones, Anjil Smith, Rie’Leya Mitchell, and Skylan Reed; a host of great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Jackson of Louisville, KY; sisters, Inez Reed of Chattanooga, Mary Joyce Jackson of Louisville, KY, and Charlesetta Jackson of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Robert (Luella) Reed, III, Charlie Reed, and Charles Williams, all of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Violet Reed, Anita Reed, and Stephanie (Randy) Keith, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Robert will lie-in-state on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Robert Reed, III as the eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
