Robert Roosevelt Freeman, 87, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in Powder Springs, Georgia. He was born on March 1, 1936, in Rome, Georgia to parents Ladell Freeman and Mary Lou Menifee. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Ladell Freeman; mother, Mary Lou Menifee; and brother, Ernest Carson. Survivors include his sons, Aprentice (Kiawana) Roberts, Robert Freeman, Jr., both of Chattanooga, and Tony Ratliff of Summerville, GA; daughter, Delilah Freeman of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Ronald (Beverly) Smith, Sr. of Chattanooga; cousins, Charles Beard, Artis Phelps, Mary E. Matthews; the Menifee family, and a host of other family relatives and friends. Robert will lie-in-state on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
