Robert Junious Carr, Jr.'s Obituary
Robert Junious Carr, Jr., 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, in a local private Health Care Home. He was the son of the late Robert J. Carr, Sr. and Pearl W. Carr. Robert served in the United States Air Force for 11-½ years. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail handler after 40 years of service. Robert was preceded in death by his 3 siblings, Cossell Carr Ronald Carr and Bernadette Carr. Survivors include his son, Robert J. Carr, III; best friend, Mitchell Taylor Edwards; a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Ms. Gwendolyn Cunningham, Ms. Wanda Lighter, Ms. Canira Hammonds, Ms. Misty Hammonds, Mrs. Terry Brantley, Mr. Nathan Boyd, and Ms. Paulette Thompson of Taylor Funeral Home and Staff for their assistance and support. Robert will lie-in-state on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brother Jimmie Ingram giving words of comfort.
