Robert Ausberry's Obituary
Robert Lydell Ausberry, 63, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022. He was a beloved son, loving godfather, devoted grandfather, and cherished brother and uncle. He was a man of great wit, wisdom, and character. Robert was born on October 26, 1958 in Monroe, Louisiana. He moved with his family to Chattanooga as a child in 1964. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1976. After graduation, Robert served honorably in the United States Army. He worked previously for Red Food Store and Bi-Lo upon finishing his military service. He worked as a produce manager at Food City before his passing. He was an avid tennis player who also enjoyed watching tennis or a good movie. He regularly liked to dine out, especially at the Brainerd Road Chili’s. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Ausberry. Survivors include his mother, Betty Ausberry; four sisters, Sheila Adams, Shirley Flemming of New Port Richey, FL, Andrea Ausberry, and Christina (Ralph) Oliver; one brother, Christopher (Cindy) Ausberry of San Antonio, TX; goddaughter, Erica (Michael) Dismuke; two grandsons, Christian Smith and Andrew Smith; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
