Richmond Lewis Byrd, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 in a local hospital. He was formerly employed by Southern Cellulose. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Terrell, Sr. and Adeline Chaney Terrell; parents, Will Edward Byrd, Sr. and Evelyn B. Jackson; nephews, Ollie “Tre” Peters, III and Baby Fortson; sister, Blondiva Madden. Survivors include his stepfather, Nathaniel Jackson, Sr.; wife of 43 years, Delores Baker Byrd; stepdaughter, Donya Baker; step-grandchild, Bromon Jenkins; brothers, Will Byrd, Jr. and Curtis (Jackie Wood) Byrd; sisters, Kassandra (Larry) Acklin, Katherine (Richard) Smith, Anita (Jeffery) Rutledge, Alicea (Arthur) Watley, Nadine (Dennis) Fortson, Sharon Guinn, all of Chattanooga, and Cecilia (Ollie) Peters of Stuttgart, AR; mother-in-law, Mable Baker; best friend who he considered a brother, Willie Norman; other friends, Williams Robinson, Jimmy Bush, Nathaniel Watkins, and Lonnie Savage; a host of other relatives and friends. Pastor Dennis Fourster will serve as the eulogist.
