Richard White's Obituary
Richard White, 75, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at his Louisville, Kentucky residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 9, 1946, in Chattanooga to Mr. Napoleon White, Sr. and Mrs. Hattie White. Richard graduated from Howard High School in the class of 1964. He continued his education to graduate with a Business Administration degree from Waterson College. Mr. White was a military veteran of the United States Army who proudly and honorably served during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of Disabled Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars Associations. After his military service, Richard relocated from Chattanooga to Louisville, Kentucky to seek better employment opportunities which he secured and retired from the Pierre Lorillard Tobacco Company. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Napoleon White, Sr. and Mrs. Hattie White; siblings, Glover White, Calvin White, Napoleon White, Jr., and Willie White; one nephew, Hugh Alexander “Bassie” Jacks. Survivors include six children, Kenneth White of Jacksonville, FL, Yvonne White (Edward) Zachary, and Napoleon White, III, both of Chattanooga, Sharon (Cyrus) Williams of Elkridge, MD, Lisa Ware, and Culman Alexander, both of Louisville, KY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Maggie Jacks of Chattanooga; one nephew, Calvin Williams of Louisville, KY; a host of nieces, cousins, classmates, and friends. A special acknowledgement of gratitude to Mr. Don Penn of Louisville, KY, for his unconditional support.
