Dr. Reverend Stanley E. Payne, Sr.'s Obituary
Dr. Reverend Stanley Evon Payne, Sr., 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, in an Atlanta, Georgia hospital. He was a 1965 graduate of Riverside High School and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Dr. Payne was a retired Chief Warrant Officer (CWO3) from the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Virginia Payne, Jr.; and grandson, Maalik Payne. Survivors include his wife, Letha Payne; sons, Stanley (Tadessa) Payne, Jr. of Smithfield, VA, Emory Payne, III of Norfolk, VA, Roderick (Tamiko) Payne of Memphis, TN, and Stavien (Peppe) Payne of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Karen Payne of Memphis; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Eric (Saundra) Payne of Chattanooga; sisters, Gayle (Oscar) Davenport of Ft. Washington, MD, Vicki Payne, and Rhonda (Ronald) Blache, both of Chattanooga; aunt, Marline (Morris) Allen of Chicago, IL; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends. Dr. Willie Paul will serve as the eulogist.
